Club Boat

We own a 7 metre Aquapro RIB called Grade Raider. We use this boat on weekend dive trips such as our Easter trip to Matauri Bay, as well as to do day trips around the Hauraki Gulf.

Grade Raider is a Wet Boat

Grade Raider is considered a ‘wet boat’ which means when you’re travelling on the boat there is a good chance you may get wet. The boat has a centre console in which you can store a small amount of gear you would like to keep dry (eg. your lunch) but a plastic bag or dry bag is recommended.

Diving from Grade Raider

At the boat launch site you should assemble your dive gear and pass it up to the boat (don’t forget your weight belt, mask/snorkel and fins). Get into your wetsuit/drysuit as this will be your lifejacket while on board. We run trips for scuba divers and freedivers/spearos. The price for diving from Grade Raider varies depending on location and type of trip and is usually between $30 for a single dive and $50-$60 for a two dive day – see the Trips table.

Become a Club Boat Skipper

We can train club members to become club boat skippers. If you would like to become a club boat skipper, email the Boat Officer on boat@akunidive.com for more information.
